Volunteers
Orange tshirts (under 18), Light Blue Tshirts (over 18)

Fusion relies on many volunteers, both under 18s (Orange Tshirts) and adult volunteers (18 and over). Fusion would not be able to continue the work they do and would be unable to provide the services that are currently available without the help of these volunteers.

All volunteers over the age of 18 are DBS checked.

Adult volunteers (pale blue t-shirts) are those aged 18 and over. They volunteer at the different youth clubs within Fusion. They volunteers recieve training and are also given the opportunity to gain professional qualifications e.g. First aid, Food Hygiene and Youth Worker qualifications. The adults are relied upon to run activities and supervise the young people as they do cooking, sports, art, etc.

'Orange T-shirts' are young people aged 14 - 17 who volunteer to support Fusion projects and local community events. They receive basic training and have the opportunity to gain professional qualifications, such as First Aid. Within their training they are taught to have an awareness of basic safe guarding, boundaries, what it means to be a role model, conflict and aggression, first aid and food hygiene. The role of the orange tshirts is to encourage participation and pair up with young people who are finding an activity difficult. They also assist the adult volunteers and staff members in the running of activities.

Fusion are always on the lookout for new volunteers, so if you are interested in getting some experience of working with young people, learning new skills and gaining qualifications please get in contact with us and we will respond as quickly as possible.
